I was given the opportunity to watch Star Trek a week before the movie is officially launched. Thanks to AMBP and also Hitomi for the invite.

The movie is really great, graphically and sound is all well developed. Although the music was not really that grand compare to Star Wars, but it does projected the space-environment-feeling.

James T. Kirk (Chris Pine), son of the previous star fleet captain, Christopher Pike. His father sacrificed himself together with the fleet for him and also the people. Kirk started as an arrogance brat but later turn himself seriously into a leader.

Spock (Zachary Quinto) or better known as 'pointy ear bastard' by Kirk and Bones. He is a half-human and half Vulcan heritage, which make him having 'funky hairstyle' and pointy ears. (I cannot stop thinking him as Sylar from Heroes)
Old Spock/Future Spock (Leonard Nimoy) made his appearance in the middle of the show. Appearing in front of Kirk and taught him how to put down his-young-self to take control of the fleet.

Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy (Karl Urban), a doctor that continuously encouraging and support Kirk in following his father's footsteps to become captain of the star ship.

Nyota Uhura (Zoe Saldana), I think the only female in the team of the fleet. She is a communication officer, which does interpretation of languages from different planets. Uhura is in love with Spock.

Hikaru Sulu (John Cho), a character that represent all of Asia. He is the pilot for the star fleet.

Pavel Chekov (Anton Yelchin) is a young and naive as the Enterprise's navigator. He is a guy with funny Russian accents, his appearance in the show is very entertaining.

Nero (Eric Bana) the Romulan villain. After he and his own planet sucked into the black hole, he wanted his revenge and wanting to destroy all the planets under the federation.

However the movie line sort of drags in the middle of the film. Besides that, it is also humorous in certain parts of the show. Some people may find the storyline is complicated, anyhow I think it is okay. It's definitely an enjoyable movie, worth to watch it!
Overall rating is 8/10.
