Why am I still single?

Ever since my last relationship, I have always been asking myself what have I done? How did it happen? Why am I still single? There is no answer... only a 'shrug'.

I have been single for almost 3 years by now. I could not understand why girls are just not attracted to me. I have done what I can, I do my best in everything, but my effort does not pay. I am deeply frustrated.

Everyday, every night, every minute and even second, I ask God, why all this misfortune must falls on me. I have not done anything cruel. I did not snatch little kids' lollipop, nor I did burst their colourful balloons. But why must my life be so miserable?

Everyone who is reading this... I am really sorry for being emotional. Thanks for all your care and love. (Although my tail often got pulled/stepped). Thank you for being there for me.

After a period of time investigating and analysing the cause of my problem, it came with a conclusion.

At last I know what's been wrong... It solved all the questions I had all these years... It is pretty shocking to know how or why it happened.

No one can actually predict it, nor we can do anything about it.

No one will know when it will happen.

Because....

Shit happens!

(My stupid cupid always bang wall, how I get new partner lea? =D)

Happy White Day!

White Day is a holiday celebrated on March 14, one month after Valentine's Day in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. White Day is a day as an "answer day" to Valentine's Day on the grounds that men should pay back the women who gave them chocolate and gifts on Valentine's Day.

How Cupid looks like?

First and for all, I must at least introduce who is Cupid. Based on Roman mythology, Cupid is the god of erotic love and beauty. *Ahem, yes erotic god... He also known as Amor, in Latin. Cupid is frequently shown shooting his bow to inspire romantic love, often as an icon of Valentine's Day.

Cupid or also known in his Greek name, Eros was the son of Venus (Aphrodite) and Mars (Ares). He was often depicted with wings, a bow, and a quiver of arrows. When Venus got jealous of the princess Psyche, who was so loved by her subjects that they forgot to worship Venus, she ordered Cupid to make her fall in love with the ugliest and poorest man in the world. However, when Cupid saw Psyche, he was so overcome with her unnatural beauty that he dropped an arrow on his foot, and fell in love with her himself.

Tale of Cupid
Following that, Cupid visited Psyche every night in his invisible form and told her not to try to see him. When Psyche incited by her two older sisters who told her Cupid was a monster, she tried to look at him and angered Cupid. After he left, she looked all over the world for him until the leader of the gods, Jupiter, gave Psyche the gift of immortality so that she could be with him. Together they had a daughter, Voluptas (pleasure).

Based on the description, Cupid seems to be a cute little kid with white wings, a quiver of love arrows and a bow. Just like the picture shown above. What curious me the most, how would he be look like after 20-30 years. When he became a husband, a father, and also addicted to his daily routine. Just like any middle-age men, in love with drinking beer, watching football and eating junk food but yet doing his job in match-making.

Perhaps, it may be some uncle looking with tummy, smoking cigar and say... 'Heelooo, looking for lovvee?'

History of Valentine's Day

Valentine's Chocolate

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day is a day celebrated on February 14 by many couples throughout the world. This day, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine or Valentinus. Question is, where does this Valentine's Day comes from? No one really knows the answer, but there are only legends and believes.

Legend #1
Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine, realising the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, he was to put to death. In contradict, some suggested that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.

Legend #2
Valentine actually sent a the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with his jailor's daughter, who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine', and expression that is still in use today.

Valentine's Day: Quotations

Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.

- Aristotle

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.

- Lao Tzu

My bounty is as boundless as the sea,
My love as deep; the more I give to thee,
The more I have, for both are infinite.

- William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

- Henry Ward Beecher

Age does not protect you from love. But love, to some extent, protects you from age.

- Anais Nin

Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward in the same direction.

- Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Love has no desire but to fulfill itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires;
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.

- Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.

-Helen Keller

Love does not dominate; it cultivates.

- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Love makes your soul crawl out from its hiding place.

- Zora Neale Hurston

Love is life. All, everything that I understand, I understand only because I love. Everything is, everything exists, only because I love.

- Leo Tolstoy

Love is like quicksilver in the hand. Leave the fingers open and it stays. Clutch it, and it darts away.

- Dorothy Parker

I have learned not to worry about love; but to honor its coming with all my heart.

- Alice Walker

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

- Pablo Neruda, "Love Sonnet XVII"

There's no boundary for love,
There's no right or wrong in love,
Love is something that makes you so blind
where you would do anything for it.

- Isaac Wong
